Introduction: Within Chapter 5 we study various methods for solving systems of equations. In fact, we study 4 different methods: Graphing, Substitution, Addition and Cramers Rule. Obviously at times one method might have advantages over others. Although all 4 would work, one might be more efficient or easier. Lesson: So...your assignment is to build a plus, minus, interesting table. This will allow you to determine when would be the optimum time to use one of the four methods. Please refer to the following web-site for an example of a plus, minus, interesting table. www.mindtools.com/pages/article/newTED_05.htm As stated on the web-site, "PMI is a good way of weighing the pros, cons and implications of a decision." Instructions: Your PMI table should have a minimum of 1 Plus, 1 Minus and 1 Interesting point about each of the 4 methods. You will be graded on the clarity of your statements and proper organization of your table. Please follow the format given on the above web-site. Once you have completed your table, copy and paste it into the discussion forum. Each of you will need to comment on at least two of your fellow student's PMI table.
